The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has revealed its championship agenda for the 2025 season, featuring an unprecedented lineup of 36 local and international tournaments across Jiu-Jitsu and MMA disciplines.
This includes the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the 6th edition of the IMMAF Youth World Championship, and the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour. The calendar reflects a 70% growth in the number of tournaments compared to last season.
The 2025 Jiu-Jitsu calendar is packed with high-profile local tournaments that aim to strengthen the sport’s grassroots presence, discover new talents, and nurture future champions. Key highlights include the Jiu-Jitsu President’s Cup, Vice President’s Cup, and Mother of the Nation Cup, along with the second edition of the Khaled Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which features both Gi and No-Gi categories.
This year, the Khaled Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship will expand to eight rounds—five focused on Gi and three on No-Gi—spanning January, February, April, May, June, July, September, and October, following the unprecedented success of the inaugural edition.
Among the season’s flagship local competitions, the Jiu-Jitsu President’s Cup is scheduled for March, the Jiu-Jitsu Vice President’s Cup for August, and the Jiu-Jitsu Mother of the Nation Championship for March. These tournaments, exclusive to local clubs and academies, have played a significant role in shaping Emirati athletes for the global Jiu-Jitsu stage.
The calendar also includes a variety of Ramadan tournaments, such as the Zayed Tournament, featuring Jiu-Jitsu alongside other sports to enhance community engagement and values. The season will also include NAS Championship in March and the Al Ain Ramadan Championship, reflecting the Federation’s commitment to broadening participation and embedding Jiu-Jitsu within the wider community during the holy month.
The Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP) series remains pivotal for professional athletes worldwide, offering valuable opportunities to earn ranking points. Among the most prominent events on the calendar are the AJP International Championship – Dubai, the AJP International Championship – Abu Dhabi, the AJP National Championship – Round 2 in June, the AJP International Championship – Fujairah in August, the AJP Asia Continental Championship in September, and the AJP International Championship – Al Ain, along with the AJP National Championship – Round 3 in October.
In addition, AJP has introduced a series of new tournaments for 2025, further reflecting its commitment to expanding the reach of Jiu-Jitsu and enhancing competitiveness at local, regional, and international levels. These new additions include the AJP East Coast Regional Championship in April, the AJP Grappling Tour – Dubai in July, the AJP Northern Regional Championship in August, and the AJP Arabian Gulf Regional Championship in December.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour will take place in May at Mubadala Arena, attracting top-ranking athletes from across the globe. As one of the most prestigious events in the sport, it offers an unparalleled competitive platform for athletes and an unmissable spectacle for fans.
The Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC) stands out as a leading global event for combat sports. Its 2025 agenda features qualifying events in February, May, and November, culminating in the ADXC Abu Dhabi in October and ADXC Al Ain in December, bringing together elite athletes in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA for electrifying contests.
