Saturday’s racing spectacle at Jebel Ali takes center stage with the eagerly awaited Jebel Ali Sprint and Jebel Ali Mile Preps.
Jebel Ali Sprint Prep is a thrilling contest, set over the same electrifying 1000m course and distance as the track’s final Listed race in just two weeks, promises to be a captivating prelude to the season’s crescendo.
Both the features of the seventh meeting of the season offer a prize purse of Dhs100,000 each, with top runners in the fray to set the stage is for an high-stakes competition.
Jebel Ali Sprint Prep, sponsored by Emirates Sprint Series, has attracted a quality field of 11.
Musabbeh Al Mheiri’s Al Shibli emerges as the frontrunner, given his high rating and recent solid performances.
Jebel Ali Mile Prep, sponsored by Shadwell, promises to be an exhilarating race with a line-up of strong contenders.
Mheiri saddles Alfareeq while Jebel Ali Racecourse’s resident trainer Michael Costa sends Embesto.
With a rating of 109, the son of Roaring Lion could be a formidable rival to Alfareeq and Salem Bin Ghadayer’s Dolayli.
Another highlight of the day is the theme —Students’ Day.

“Our choice of this theme stems from a deep-seated desire to engage students and raise awareness about the vibrant and dynamic racing community. The horse racing industry in the UAE, a multi-billion-dollar sector plays an indispensable role in fueling the nation’s economy — its influence extending far beyond our borders, reaching a global scale.
Students from various universities, along with both graduates and undergraduates will be joining this week’s thrilling race meeting at Jebel Ali Racecourse.
“We are excited to welcome between 150 to 200 students to this prestigious event,” said Ahmed.
“As part of the celebrations, we are delighted that the students will be in attendance, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the day.”
“This initiative offers students a unique opportunity to delve into the multifaceted world of horse racing,” he added.
The seven-race card opens with Wathba Stallions Cup, a race dedicated to Purebred Arabian drawing 16 runners.
The second race of the evening, the Al Huzaifa Cup, promises to deliver a captivating contest as some of the finest Thoroughbreds step onto the track.
Doug Watson’s has pinned hopes on Carpe Momentum, who has displayed modest success, including a single win and a second-place finish so far.
Fawzi Nass saddles Condor Pasa, a four-year gelding poised to challenge for the top spot.
Next on the card is Emirates NBD Cup, spotlighting promising 3-year-olds.
Ahmad Bin Harmash’s Sir Harmony and Rashed Bouresly’s Arz Lebnan are among the favourites.
