The anticipation is palpable as the Karate 1-Youth League kicks off its 2025 season in Fujairah, UAE.
With expected record-breaking participation, the event will take place from February 20-25 at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah.
Ahead of the event, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, met in his office at the Emiri Diwan with
Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razooqi, President of the UAE and Asian Federations and Vice President of the International Karate Federation.
During the meeting, the Crown Prince of Fujairah was briefed on the preparations for hosting the 2025 Karate Youth World League Championship.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted Fujairah’s prominent reputation in the global sports community, supported by its advanced infrastructure and organizational capabilities in hosting major sports events.
He also emphasized the support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, in advancing the sports sector in the emirate, aligning with the nation’s global competitiveness in this field.
Sheikh Mohammed praised the efforts of the tournament’s organizing committee, wishing them success in achieving their goals of developing and supporting the sports sector on both national and international levels.
For his part, Major General Al Razooqi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Crown Prince of Fujairah for his support of the championship and his keen follow-up on its preparations, contributing to achieving the best outcomes and standards.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah. Engineer Humaid Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Karate Federation, Dr. Abdullah Al Badi and other officials of the federation were also present on the occasion.
Last year, a total of 2024 athletes representing 78 countries competed in the event.
