The UAE taekwondo national team once again showcased their exceptional talent and unwavering determination, further solidifying their dominance at the 12th edition of the prestigious Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship (G2), held at the Zayed Sports Complex.
With remarkable skill and unrelenting spirit, the team etched their presence into the annals of the competition, leaving a lasting impression.
The team's athletes delivered impressive performances, claiming four silver medals, won by champions Amina Al Lougani, Mazoon Isa, Salma Ahmed, and Mohamed Salem. In addition, Hind Osama and Ahmed Khamees each secured a bronze medal.
Despite the fierce competition and the presence of world champions, the UAE team dominated the field with remarkable energy, achieving the desired results and fulfilling their mission.
This success followed a previous standout performance at the 5th Arab Cup, held at the same venue, where the national team’s talent, Mazoon Isa, earned the first gold medal of the tournament.
Amina also added a silver medal to the tally, while several others collected bronze medals, including Sarah Al Ketbi, Rania Al Nuaimi, Heya Al Shoufi, Maria Al Ansari, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, Majed Rashid, and Marwan Hussein.
Overall, the UAE team captured 15 medals over the course of the event, bringing joy to their supporters and attracting continuous audience attention.
Dr. Ahmad Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, president of the UAE Taekwondo Federation, praised these achievements as a testament to the federation’s commitment to the sport and the thorough preparation of the national teams.
He expressed confidence in the team's capabilities, pointing to their consistent progress and readiness, thanks to the collaboration among all involved in formulating strategic plans.
Dr. Al Zeyoudi also emphasized the importance of focusing on the future, noting that the national team is made up of young talents.
“This focus on youth will help ensure continued success in future competitions and enable the team to build on its current accomplishments,” he added.
