Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, son of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, inaugurated the third edition of the Karate 1-Youth League 2025 at Zayed Sports Complex.
Antonio Espinos, President of the World Karate Federation, was also present on the occasion.
Sheikh Hamad praised the high organizational standards of the championship, which affirms its success and the importance of its goals in developing the sports sector in the country.
He emphasized the leading reputation of Fujairah in organizing and hosting international championships for various sports within the global sporting community.
The opening ceremony also featured a presentation titled ‘Fujairah Between the Past and Present.
The Karate 1-Youth League kicked off on Thursday will conclude on February 23, with broad international participation.
Among those attending the opening ceremony were Major General Nasser Al Razooqi, President of the UAE and Asian Karate Federations and Vice President of the World Karate Federation, Rashid Abdul Majeed Al Ali, Vice President of both the UAE and Asian Karate Federations, Executive Board Member of the World Karate Federation, and Deputy Chairman of the tournament’s Supreme Organizing Committee.
Also present were Engineer Humaid Shamis, Secretary General of both Arab and UAE Karate Federations, and Tournament Director, along with Dr. Abdullah Al Badi, Assistant Secretary General of the UAE Karate Federation and General Coordinator of the tournament.
