India pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah returned to action in the IPL on Monday after an injury when Mumbai Indians named him for the clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Bumrah joined Mumbai at their home stadium in Wankhede three months after he missed the final day of the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney in January due to a back injury.
Skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and confirmed Bumrah's comeback alongside Rohit Sharma, another veteran who missed the previous match due to a knee injury.
Rohit has been added as an impact substitute.
Bumrah was not part of India's ODI Champions Trophy triumph in Dubai last month.
The 31-year-old will be key to five-time champions Mumbai's hopes of a turnaround after losing three of their four matches this season.
The right-arm paceman, who bowls with an unusual slinging action and is known as a yorker specialist, has played 45 Tests, 89 ODIs and 70 T20 matches for India, claiming 443 wickets across the three formats since his debut in 2016.
