Al Habtoor Polo Club fetes top talent at end of season awards

Al Habtoor Polo Club marked the conclusion of an unforgettable season with the successful hosting of its fifth annual end of season polo awards.

Held in the presence of players, patrons, sponsors, and dignitaries, the evening served as a heartfelt celebration of the passion, sportsmanship, and community spirit that define the club’s vibrant calendar.

The event was graced by the presence of Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor, President of the UAE Polo Federation and Vice Chairman and CEO of Al Habtoor Group, adding prestige to the special occasion.

The 2024–2025 season was one of exceptional highlights, featuring exhilarating chukkers, prestigious tournaments, and captivating show jumping and dressage competitions.

The awards ceremony was a fitting tribute to the many individuals who brought this season to life — from talented athletes and academy students to the dedicated members and invaluable sponsors who make it all possible.

With an atmosphere full of excitement and appreciation, the ceremony honored standout performances, game-changers, and dedicated club members. Highlights included tributes to rising stars from the Polo Academy, invaluable contributors behind the scenes, and standout performers from the Equestrian and Riding School — each applauded for their dedication and impact throughout the season.

As the season draws to a close, Al Habtoor Polo Club looks ahead with ambition and gratitude, promising even more exciting experiences in the seasons to come.

Khalaf Al Habtoor was crowned Young Best Player, while Theresa Grodd took home the Progress Award for her impressive development. Romain Gerardin-Fresse earned the Rookie of the Year title, and Ricardo Langwider was named Rising Star.

Mohammed Al Habtoor stood out as the Polo Player of the Season, with UAE Polo honored as the Most Outstanding High Goal Team. The Best Polo Organization award went to AM Polo, while Sheikha Maitha Al Maktoum was celebrated as the Female Polo Player of the Season.

Special recognition was given to IFZA for their contribution to the sport, and Jehangiri Polo received the Polo Special Recognition Award. Among supporters, Paul & Francesca Leyland were applauded as the Best Enthusiastic Supporters, and Dr. Abdularahman Abbar was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

In the equestrian division, Team Yam UAE was named Best Equestrian Organization, while young talents like Alessandra Borguesi (Next Generation Rider) and Grace Taylor (Rookie of the Season) shined among rising stars.
