As a result of the COVID-19 lockdown, many UAE residents have resorted to ordering food online as a way to achieve normalcy in times of uncertainty.
Many have ordered takeout during the lockdown as the hospitality industry remained closed to provide a service for customers.

Ordering food online for takeout has been the only source of income for many restaurants; thus, many have tried rationalizing, especially for local businesses. In challenging times local businesses have proven to be significantly impacted, making their efforts to provide meals through delivery services vital and essential.
Another reason many residents could have been swayed to eating out is the crave for something other than a home-cooked meal. Particularly to indulge in some favourites that provide an easy and quick fix rather than making it at home.

Many may not be aware that they are, in fact, supporting local businesses by ordering online or passing to pick up their favourite meals and beverages.
Takeout has really been one of the few ways people were still able to enjoy themselves at home.
Lastly, the convenience ordering takeout provides is unmatched with bountiful restaurants with different cuisines and dietary restrictions; hence, the lockdown may have exacerbated this chain.
