For once food delivery firm Swiggy found itself in the midst of an additional dollop of fame after Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan jokingly asked a fan whether he worked with the firm and would deliver food over at his house Mannat. A Swiggy team of delivery boys promptly landed at the actor’s home with the delicacies from different restaurants in Mumbai.
It all began when the star invited his fans for a 15-minute Ask Me Anything session on Twitter, where he interacts with his followers worldwide. One fan asked him about his forthcoming films, while another asked him about his daughter Suhana’s debut film ‘The Archies.’
Then, another user casually asked him whether he had eaten food. Shah Rukh jocularly answered, “Are you from Swiggy? Will you send the food?”
Not wishing to miss out on their 15 minutes of fame, Swiggy promptly reacted on their official handle, “We are from Swiggy. Shall we deliver it?”
Shah Rukh, however, did not respond. But the firm did and went the extra mile. Soon, another tweet showed a team of Swiggy delivery boys standing outside the megastar’s home. The post’s caption read: “We are from Swiggy and have arrived with dinner,” according to a report in a section of the Indian media.
The photograph notched up over a million views,
One user said, “Have you got tandoori chicken, Khan Sahab loves it.” Another remarked, “@iamsrk Sir, please tell your security guards to open the gate of #Mannat. The team of @Swiggy is ready to serve you dinner.”
