Talabat app reveals husband's infidelity, wife catches him red-handed with foreign girl in Dubai

A notification through the Talabat app led an Arab woman to discover her husband’s infidelity after she arrived at the location of a hotel room to catch him in the act of escorting a foreign girl.
The wife quarreled with her husband at the scene of the incident and the quarrel snowballed into an assault on her. Consequently, she filed a complaint with the police stating that her husband had assaulted her and caused her multiple injuries.
The police referred the incident and the parties involved to the public prosecution, which, in turn, referred them to the court.
The court of first instance acquitted the husband of the charge of assaulting his wife and the court of appeal upheld the ruling.
The case dated back to June 2020 when an Arab woman received a notification from the Talabat app, which the couple shared.
She called the restaurant, which confirmed the validity of the request and its address in a hotel in Dubai. According to the wife’s testimony, she went directly to the address to be surprised by her husband with a foreign girl inside the room.

She started screaming at her husband and this developed into a quarrel, she said, adding that he assaulted her with his hands and feet.
Later, she took out her mobile to call the police but he took it from her.
She, however, managed to get the mobile back and called the police but her husband fled away.
She then went to the hospital to get a medical examination form, which showed injuries that resulted in pain and inflammation in the shoulder in addition to swelling in the heel of her left foot and the fingers of her right hand.
The husband admitted that he and his wife had a dispute that snowballed into a fistfight but denied causing any injuries that led to any disability on the part of his wife as she claims.
He pleaded that the injuries she sustained were the result of dangerous sports she used to practice such as horse riding, diving and yoga.
He added that there are differences between him and his wife and filed a divorce case with the Personal Status Court.
According to the forensic report, the wife suffered injuries that prevented her from carrying out personal activities for more than 20 days and the assault led her to have a permanent disability estimated at 5 per cent.
The husband, however, insisted that he had nothing to do with her injuries and brought documents that included medical reports issued by the hospital on dates prior to the incident. The documents showed that the wife suffered from pains in the right shoulder due to partial dislocation of the right joint. The Court of First Instance acquitted the husband of the assault charges and the ruling was upheld by the appeal court.
