Sharjah permits food display on tables in restaurants during Ramadan

Sharjah Municipality announced that restaurants and cafeterias will be allowed to display food on tables in Ramadan, and that the necessary permits will be issued for this purpose, in accordance with hygiene conditions and preventive measures.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that the municipality has prepared all its relevant departments and teams to follow up on food preparation and serving facilities and allocated inspection teams to follow up on their compliance with health conditions.
Sharjah Municipality has started issuing permits for serving food during daytime in Ramadan from morning until afternoon to all food outlets, including food outlets at Shopping centres.
It has also started issuing permits for food display (from Asr prayer until Iftar) in front of food premises such as restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries and confectionary shops.
Food outlets owners are advised to visit Food Control Counter, Suburb Affairs Department in 5th Industrial area, to get the permit. There is a fees of Dhs3,000 for a permit.
According to the general rules issued by Sharjah Municipality, food preparation and cooking is only permitted inside the kitchens.
During daytime customers are not allowed in the dinning hall and the food services are limited to off-site food service only.
The municipality will also set up two Ramadan tents, in cooperation with the Sharjah Charity International, to serve workers during Ramadan in various industrial areas.
The Director-General of the Municipality indicated that public parking is subject to fees from eight in the morning until midnight, and will also be free during the Tarawih prayer period, and includes parking surrounding mosques only.
