In a kind gesture offered within the month of giving, Ramadan, the family of late Obaid Al Helo, a prominent Emirati man, granted Dh1million to support students whose financial conditions may prevent them from continuing their education at Zayed University.

Mohammed Al Ansari, Representative of the Family of Late Obaid Al-Hilo, handed Prof. Reyadh AlMehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University, a Dh1 million cheque offered as a contribution by Fatima Ibrahim Bin Sulaiman, widow of Late Obaid Al Helo to support and aid those students.

This came during a recent meeting held at Zayed University, Dubai Campus, in the presence of Fatima AlDarmaki, Dean, Student Affairs Deanship and Sareea Alktbee, Specialist, the ZU Student Support Unit.

Al Ansari said that the family of Late Obaid Al Helo leads the way to humanitarian charity and community support and empowerment. Al Helo was among the first in the emirate to establish a charity organisation. “Charity and giving will never stop in the UAE, our wise leaders taught us to be kind to one another and help each other. We will continue to support Zayed University students and aid their way to complete their education journey and become leaders in the coming years,” he said.

Al Mehaideb particularised such valuable and constructive initiatives to have a positive impact in supporting the students’ educational journey and encouraging them to excel and move forward. “Through this generous contribution, our Student Support Unit Services will provide a monthly aid to several students to maintain their academic endeavors. Our students will be held, cared for and will be enthusiastically engaged in the process of their development and learning.”

Cooperating with various government and private institutions, the Zayed University Student Support Unit Services provides excellent quality of services to financially incapable students. They provide those students with transportation, nutrition, computer devices and much more, all to ensure maintaining excellence in education and professional community standards.
