The Abu Dhabi Agriculture & Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) issued a decision administratively shutting down the Food Zone Catering Contracts in Al Mafraq Industrial Area, which holds trade license no. CN-3688108, for violating Law no. 2 for 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the legislation issued thereunder as well as for its danger to public health.

The ADAFSA explained that the food control report stated that the administrative closure decision came as a result of the facility’s failure to fulfill food safety requirements, thereby affecting the level of food safety and consumer health.

The facility repeatedly committed high-risk violations that affected the safety of foodstuffs and failed to take corrective measures to stop the effects of these violations, the ADAFSA said, noting that the facility had been fined three times and received a warning of administrative closure.

The ADAFSA affirmed that the administrative closure order would remain in effect until the facility corrects the violations and meets all the necessary requirements to ensure the health and safety of food.

Administrative closure decisions and detection of abuses come as part of the inspection efforts aimed at strengthening the food safety system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ensuring that all facilities meet food safety requirements, the ADAFSA said, noting that all facilities, irrespective of their nature and food products, are subject to regular inspection by the ADAFSA’s inspectors.

The ADAFSA called on the public to communicate with it and report any violations in any food establishment by calling the Abu Dhabi Government’s toll-free number 800555, enabling the ADFASA’s inspectors to take the necessary action for safe food for all members of society in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
