Well it’s that time of the year again, when we try to figure out the song of the summer, the anthem to our dance offs, and the background score of many TikTok videos.

Last year’s was undecided with a three-way tie between The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Taylor Swift’s “Cardigan” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” For us, it was definitely “Blinding Lights,” with its upbeat tempo and rhythm that made us jump on your feet.

This year, there are a few songs that are in the running. We have “Levitating” by Dua Lipa Featuring Dababy, which features hand claps and literally tells us, “You want me…” (to be the song of the summer, no doubt). There’s also Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” which has been lip-synced against in every other TikTok video.

And, at this point, who hasn’t heard “Butter” by BTS? Not only has it spread like wildfire because of the BTS Army as the fans call themselves, the McDonald’s limited time meal made it even more famous. To be honest, it is anyone’s game right now. Only time will tell.
