The romantic comedy genre is so popular because of its feel-good story lines, relatable content and predictable endings. This week we are taking a look at some of the best romantic comedy movies out there.

“Love Actually” is one of the most famous romantic comedies we have ever seen. The film stars Keira Knightley along with a long list of other big names including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson and the late Alan Rickman. This movie usually gets shown around the end of every year and has become a classic winter holiday title ever since it came out in 2003.

Julia Roberts’ name has become synonymous with the romantic comedy genre. She has starred in so many over the years and has definitely earned her title as queen of the rom-com. Roberts has two movies on our list, the first is “Pretty Woman” where she starred opposite Richard Gere and the second is “Notting Hill,” where she co-starred with Hugh Grant. She was spectacular in both films which came out in 1990 and 1999 respectively.

“Serendipity” is another really good romantic comedy that anyone can enjoy. The story takes place in New York and centres around two main characters played by Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack. The movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2001 and went on to open at No 2 at the US box office.

In other news this week, turn to our Health pages to read about the risks of weight loss injections. We are surrounded by stories of celebrities using these injections to lose weight and curb appetites but is anyone really paying attention to the side effects?
