Sharjah Women's Sports Club athletes reign supreme at Vice President’s Cup

Sharjah Women's Sports Club continued their impressive run of form by winning the Vice President’s Cup tournament, held over three days at the Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled.

The club's athletes secured a total of 29 medals at the athletics tournament across various age categories, further cementing their position as a force to be reckoned with in UAE athletics.

In addition to the top spot in the women’s category, the club's players, across all age groups and categories, achieved a significant haul of medals in all competitions.

This includes 16 medals for the junior category, including 5 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

In the youth category, Sharjah Women's Sports Club athletes earned 4 gold, silver, and bronze medals. As for the young ladies' category, they secured one medal.

The ladies' category, winners of the first place, earned 8 medals, including 5 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze.

The club's success can be attributed to its talented pool of young athletes and the dedication of its coaching staff.

The cubs team comprised Alia Al Muhairi, Noof Al Balushi, Sheikha Fahad, Noura Al Ghaili, Laila Al Naqbi, Samar Saleh, Jouri Mashreq, Sarah Fahad, Salma Naji, Alia Al Muhairi, Shouq Al Balushi, Mahra Naji, Souad Jlaf, and Mariam Murad.

The club’s juniors’ team consisted of Asmita Ganesh, Maitha Ahmed, and Aisha Issa, while Sarah Mohammed represented the youth category. The seniors team featured Abeer Ibrahim Al Balushi, Dina Al Gharsali, Fatima Al Balushi, Fatima Khalil, and Mahra Abdul Rahim.

The athletic teams at the club are led by a highly experienced coaching staff comprising Hind Al Kabawi (technical director and sprints coach), Marwa Bomezza, and Fatima Al Qafsi, along with administrator Marwa Al Jasmi.

Belqis Al Shehhi, Head of Individual Games at Sharjah Women's Sports Club, hailed the team's achievement and emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation for the future. She highlighted the club's focus on developing young talent and providing them with the necessary support to reach their full potential.
