UAE athletes shine at sixth edition of Dibba Classic Sports Challenge

UAE national team player Ali Dawi emerged winner in the UAE Bodybuilding Championship, dedicated to citizen and resident players, held as part of the sixth edition of the Dibba Classic Sports Challenge which took place at the Creative Center Theater in Fujairah.

In the expatriate category, Iranian Mohammad Ali Mohammad Khazaei won the Classic Physique Champions title.

Rashid Al Muhairi claimed the Physique 175cm gold. Noteworthy results included Ahmed Badr Al Awadhi winning the Youth Classic gold, Omani Ibrahim Al Shuhi winning the Classic 170cm gold, and Egyptian Mohamed Osama winning the gold in the Classic Bodybuilding 175cm category.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, described the high level of performance demonstrated by the athletes during the UAE Bodybuilding Championship held at the Fujairah Creative Center as promising for the future of Emirati bodybuilding.

He praised the pivotal role of the tournament's organizing committee and their efforts in ensuring the success of the sporting event. He also highlighted the significant contribution of the Dibba Classic Sports Challenge to Emirati bodybuilding.

Regarding the Dibba Sports Challenge Championship, he emphasized its considerable evolution and the trust it has gained from the public due to its distinguished reputation. He noted that its continued competitiveness and high organizational standards contributed to its ongoing success. He confirmed that holding it in multiple cities has promoted it, having been held in Dibba Fujairah, then Dubai, and now in Fujairah.

Salem Al Suraidi, the chairman of the organising committee, expressed delight in the success of the event. He noted the participation of a large number of players and the wide audience for support and attendance, reflecting its sporting and societal significance.

He revealed that the first day saw a significant attendance of 800 spectators, in addition to more than 100 coaches and administrators. The Dibba Classic Sports Challenge registered 310 players in the UAE Championships and Dibba Classic Bodybuilding and Physique Challenge, as well as 52 players in arm wrestling, marking a notable number of participants. The UAE Championship had 17 referees overseeing the competitions.

Syrian player Rawad Waleed Al Meemsani won the men's Physique Champions title at the UAE Bodybuilding Championship for citizens and residents held today at the Fujairah Creative Center under the supervision of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, achieving a remarkable accomplishment.

Emirati Othman Ahmed won in the Masters Open Weight category, while Egyptian Mohamed Ihab won in the Youth category.

In the 70kg weight category, Bangladesh’s Rongjit Jandara won the gold, Sri Lankan Raja Kumaran won the 80kg gold, and Iraqi Ali Naji won in the over 85kg category. In the Body Style 85kg category, Lebanese Richard Robert Qalfat won the gold, Syrian Rawad Waleed won the 90kg gold, and Iranian Mohammad Mehdi Mohammad won in the over 90kg category.
